After a protracted period of time, Disney has finally secured copyright to Winnie, Tigger, and all the other pals. A huge amount of money was at stake of course, but also a fascinating battle into the nature of copyright. Fear not though kids: The Bear will be available to entertain you for decades to come.

Prime time debut for Obama’s health care speech tonight. Hard to imagine it will be a great plan, but it may be the “last best bet” this time around. Is it better to compromise now, get something substantive, and try again later………….or better to hold off altogether?

The first major challenge (other than all the other major challenges, of course) to the Obama folks and not looking good. Will we end up with a clean bill of health, after all the fussin’ and a fightin’?

One vote in, and already on the “losing” side. The Supremes voted 5-4, with Sotomayor on the not-so-winning side, to allow a Ohio man to die from lethal injection. Good to see that she’s on the proper side of history, as ultimately, the death penalty will be gone in the US, but sad that her first vote wasn’t a winner. Either way, good to see that her thoughts on this important issue are the proper ones.

Whatever you think of Bill Clinton, it’s hard not to be impressed with what happened in North Korea. Not only does it up his stature, but it shows what can be done despite seemingly impossible odds. Way to go, Billy Boy.

Looks like Sotomayor is actually getting a (somewhat) fair shake, despite some idiotic questioning. She seems like a lock, and by all accounts, a good choice. Sure couldn’t be worse than some of the right-wing wackos certainly sitting on the bench.

It’s hard not to see how important it is to make a will, especially in light of the mess with MJ’s will that is bound to cause headaches for years. Do yourself a favor - get a lawyer to help you if you can afford one, if not get an online kit. In some states, a handwritten will does the trick, but be sure to do some good google searching first to make sure you’re covered.

Should be interesting to see if Mr. Prez. can get his first nominee to the Supreme Court in. If not, may not bode well for future choices. With 4 (or hopefully
years to go, he should have at least one or two more roles to fill……….how left can he get away with?

Yikes. Minnesota takes quite awhile to get it right………and they still haven’t. It seems pretty clear that Franken will be going to Congress, but when? He’s good enough………he’s smart enough………and doggone it, let’s just end this charade and finally get a comedian into Congress.

Well, back after a long spell. New president, bankrupt economy. Fun stuff, eh? Anyway, happy to be back in the blogosphere and hope to be able to answer any legal questions you may have.
